Irish Design Shop is an independent, Dublin-based shop that carefully sources and curates a considered collection of handmade pieces from a range of designer-makers in Ireland. The shop champions the work of new and established designers, with a focus on high-quality design, sustainability, and quality craftsmanship.
The focus of the brand refresh was to reflect the evolution of the shop over 16 years and present a sophisticated, yet approachable identity. The aim was to place the brand at the core of their ethos of high-quality Irish design, authenticity, and sustainability.
Anchor Studio chose to root the brand identity in the tradition of Irish design, selecting the typeface Cló Gealach to visually reflect an historic foundation in design and craft. The ‘d’ icon was developed into a geometric pattern, creating a unique, recognisable element that nods towards the printed repeats often seen in the store.
Anchor Studio also oversaw the complete design and development of their e-commerce website, irishdesignshop.com. The digital platform features an integrated maker profile system that clearly links products back to their creators, enhancing the brand’s focus on craft and authenticity. Furthermore, the website includes a bespoke gift wrapping module to streamline the customer experience.
